Be Prepared For Winter Driving
Winter weather can be dangerous for driving; with snow, sleet, and ice making the roads treacherous.
In 2021, there were 395 fatal crashes and approximately 22,325 injury crashes during snow or sleet conditions. To stay safe, prepare yourself and your car for winter weather.
1. Check all vehicle lights, including trailer lights.
2. Fill windshield wiper fluid with de-icer and replace worn blades before winter weather hits.
3. Get a winter tune-up from a mechanic.
4. Stock your vehicle with necessary winter supplies, including a snow shovel, broom, ice scraper, abrasive material, jumper cables, flashlight, warning devices, blankets, cell phone, charger, water, food, and medication.
