Female mosquitoes lay eggs in standing water and can’t reproduce if the larvae have no place to live. At least once a week, empty anything that can collect or pool water, such as buckets, birdbaths, dog bowls, kiddie pools, tarps, playground equipment, plant saucers, and gutters.

Plant Natural Deterrents

Researchers found that if they planted bee balm, marigolds, spotted geraniums, lavender, sweet fern, and citronella around the edge of the barrels, with cherry tomatoes and basil in the middle. “It’s not enough to plant mosquito-repellent species, but you have to activate them,” he says. When people pick tomatoes or herbs, they brush the other plants, giving off chemicals that interfere with the mosquitoes’ ability to navigate and find prey. Bogus emails featuring the subject line, “Delivery Failure Notification

To avoid delivery scams keep the following in mind:

1. Take precautions to ensure a safe delivery. If you are having a valuable or fragile item delivered to your home, purchase shipping insurance. In addition, always get tracking numbers for your purchases and check the shipping progress periodically.

2. Watch out for texts, calls or emails about a missed delivery. Legitimate delivery services usually leave a "missed delivery" notice on your door. If you receive a missed delivery notice, examine the form carefully to make sure it is authentic and only then follow their instructions. Keep track of what you've ordered, so you have a better idea of what is coming and when. Don't click on any links; go to the delivery carrier's website directly or log in and use the retailer's tracking tools.

3. Request a signature. Chances are this feature may come with a price tag, but it may be worth the extra fee. Requesting a signature means that a delivery service won't be able to drop a package on your doorstep unless someone is around to sign for it.

CO poisoning is preventable. Learn how to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your business. With colder temperatures and heating systems running for hours, the risk of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning increases.

Dangers
Fumes can come from multiple sources such as furnaces, kerosene heaters, vehicles “warmed up” in garages, stoves, lanterns, and gas ranges, portable generators, even burning charcoal and wood. From these sources it can build up in enclosed or partially enclosed spaces. People and animals in these spaces can be poisoned and can die from breathing CO.

How to recognize symptoms
The most common symptoms of CO poisoning are headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, chest pain, and confusion. People who are sleeping or who have been drinking alcohol can die from CO poisoning before ever having symptoms.

1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs

Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 400F and move the rack to the top third of the oven.
Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy.
Slice the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and the ribs (leave some pith/membrane in for extra spice if you like). Recommended use rubber gloves when handling hot peppers.
Add the cream cheese to a medium bowl, along with the garlic powder, scallions, and cheddar cheese. Once the bacon is cooked, spoon it out of the pan and into the bowl (leave most of the bacon fat in the pan but add a little to the cheese mixture to add more flavor). Mix/mash together until you've got a smooth mixture.
Spoon the filling into each jalapeno pepper half, pressing it down so the surface is even for the panko topping.
Add the butter to a small bowl, melt it in the microwave, and then stir in the panko. Sprinkle over each pepper half (I find it easiest to do this by hand).

Bake the jalapeno poppers uncovered for 20-25 minutes, season with salt & pepper if needed, and let them cool for a few minutes before enjoying.

How are they doing it
So here is how they are stealing your money! Scammers print stickers with fake QR codes that they place on parking meters that tell motorists they can easily pay by scanning the QR code with their phones.

Unfortunately, unsuspecting motorists who scan the codes think they are paying for parking but are transferring money directly to the criminals. After paying for the spot through the QR code, some victims return to find that their vehicle has been towed or received a parking ticket for non-payment, multiplying the amount of money lost.
